This page is to help get power adapters done safely for renters for two to three prong and laundry to 120v. Renters are only supposed to have their landlords change the receptacles and should not remove any cover plates from the walls themselves. This page uses NEC suggestions for two changing a two prong to a three prong, where the ground wire is missing and you can use a GFCI labels with "no equipment ground". However, if you are renting you cannot change the outlets. This is a better method because this will protect you using NEC standards.
When you need to get a two prong plug changed for a three prong plug and you cannot change the actual plug (because you rent), but you can use those same protective methods for the "no equipment ground" by building your own power adapter. Click here
When you need to get a 120v three prong plug and you have a 3 prong 120v/240v dryer plug, you can use the same protective methods for the "no equipment ground" by building your own power adapter. Click here
